✓ Clear, Fair Consumer Terms

We pride ourselves on transparent, fast, and dependable digital vehicle inspections. Under UK law, digital services initiated with customer consent cannot be cancelled once generated. However, we provide 100% Guaranteed Full Refunds for any accidental double billing or technical delivery failures.

01 Digital Products & Statutory Consumer Rights

British Auto Records delivers personalized, instantly generated digital vehicle history reports. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, the statutory 14-day cancellation period does not apply to bespoke digital content once processing has commenced with your prior express consent.

When you place an order on our platform, you explicitly consent to the immediate execution of automated database retrieval routines to provide rapid delivery within your chosen timeframe (5-6h, 3-4h, or 1-2h).

02 When You ARE 100% Entitled to a Full Refund

We immediately and unconditionally honor refund requests under the following circumstances:

  • Accidental Duplicate Charge: If you were billed twice for the same vehicle check due to a payment gateway timeout or double-click, we will instantly refund the duplicate charge in full.
  • Verifiable Technical Non-Delivery: If our automated servers encounter a critical outage and fail to dispatch your report within the promised timeframe, and our 24/7 support team cannot provide the completed report within 24 hours of notification.
  • Non-Existent Vehicle Record: In the rare event that an entered registration mark cannot be verified across DVLA, Police, or insurance registers because no record exists anywhere on UK road files.
Fast Refund Processing: Approved refunds are credited directly back to your original payment method via Stripe within 1 to 3 business days with zero cancellation fees.

03 Circumstances Where Refunds Are NOT Applicable

Due to the direct data query costs incurred with official UK registries upon order submission, refunds cannot be granted in the following scenarios:

  • Report Successfully Delivered: Once an official vehicle check has been generated and dispatched to your email, the digital service is complete.
  • Unfavorable Vehicle History Discovered: The core purpose of British Auto Records is to uncover adverse vehicle facts. Discovering that a vehicle has written-off status (Cat S, N, A, B), mileage rollbacks, MOT failures, or outstanding finance confirms that the report accurately performed its safety duty. Refunds are not granted because a vehicle check revealed negative findings.
  • Customer Change of Mind: Deciding not to buy the inspected car, finding another vehicle, or no longer requiring the report after generation.
  • Customer Registration Typo: If you accidentally mistyped your registration mark (e.g. entering O instead of 0) and the report was processed for that vehicle. Note: Contact our support team immediately! If you notify us, our team will re-run the report for your correct registration free of charge as a courtesy!

05 Pre-Dispute Agreement & Chargeback Notice

Fair Support Commitment: We are committed to 100% customer satisfaction.
